Hi all!
i’m in the market for a new desktop.  However, as of late, i’ve been wanting to experiment with audio/mixing/mashing/etc, and I’m thinking about just buying an Apple for Garageband software alone.  Does anybody know of a PC alternative for garageband?  Otherwise..i may just turn to the dark (er…white) side.

have a look, but i have and would not pay for it, or use it for studio work - although i am not a recording techie, just a producer. Audition is just an adobe rehash of Cool Edit, which i believe was freeware. for editing sound files its okay, for interation into Premiere Pro 1.5, it’s a joke, and in general, it’s not as professional a package as CakeWalk or anything u can get for the Mac. While our new studio (Phoenix Studios for A/V, Nepal) now under construction, we are going to be PC-based for budget reasons alone.  If we had a budget for G5s and all the great software we would do it. if u need more info on PC stuff, I could ask the engineers for a list of what they are planning (these boys have put a lot of time in on research too).
