X505’s Disassemble Guide and Photos!

Hi all x505 user,
Today, I open this thread to show you how to open your x505 with photos included.
Warning: These is high risk, please do with your best carefull. I will not respondsible for any damages by these. Thanks
1. Remove battery and AC adapter.
2. Place the bottom up. There are 8 rubber feet cover screws to remove.
3. Behind the battery place, at labels and serial number, you will see 2 more screws. Remove them.
4. Side of USB ports, there are 2 more smaller screws to remove.
5. And final screw on left hinge.
6. Remove 2 hinge cover. There are 2 latches on each cover. Be carefull latch location to avoid crack covers when remove them as mine.
7. Now you can open Bottom Cabinet Cover. See photos. There is a latch in each side of cabinet cover.
8. Lift cover up and pull to your side. See photo.
9. Now you can see components inside of your x505 as photo.
10. That’s all I can do for you. Be carefull of latch positions to avoid crack parts.

THANK YOU SO MUCH! Wow what an industrial piece of art! When you removed the rubber feet, were they damaged? Are you able to attach them back?

NO, They are still in excellent condition. I only replaced its adhesive tape after sometime removed.
If it’s first time removal, it can be attached back good as before got out.

Thanks for the guide. Essentially we all broke those clips trying to remove ours. I knew why ngvuanh wanted the parts before he asked, lol.
I decided to use ruber cement to secure my feet after several removals.

IMO, upgrade hdd is easy when you opened your x505.
Only Toshiba MK3006GAL and MK4007GAL can fit x505.
