Just plop in the recovery discs (after you create them via the built in VAIO software that is) and do a recovery. When it asks you for the Application Recovery Disc just don’t insert it and you won’t have any of the extra software installed.

I dont think that will work, what I mean is a complete clean install of winxp without all the extras that come with the sony discs. On the TR you can install a fresh copy of winxp, then load the neccessary files and drivers from the recovery discs.
On the T, I dont know what files and drivers are required to everything working (hotkeys, audio etc…)
If you use the recovery discs, theres only 2 options to recover and both require the apps to be installed
There should be a lot of common steps. And, incase things do get messed up, you have the recovery discs to restore your T to it’s original factory setup.
Its working great, but FYI if you’re installing from scratch when you get a exlamation mark next to UGX under device, its the bluetooth. If you get SP2 windows will install the MS drivers but if you want compatibility with BT headsets dont install MS drivers use widcomm drivers instead
[quote author=“zeebra1”]Well you could use belarc or the jellybean thing, but I’m old school so I just flip my T over and look at the sticker on the bottom
after i burned a xp pro cd, i found i can’t use fdisk after boot t250.
