I have paid for a WMA file and it plays only on the downloaded laptop, due to some licensing reasons, I think. Is there a way to convert this to mp3?

You could try freeme if it uses WMA 7 or 8. Does the license allow you to burn the track to CD so you can rip it? Another option is to use Audacity or something to record the song as you play it and then save it as an MP3 file.

Maybe you could burn is to an audio disk image with something like Nero, then mount the image and import it into Itunes (set with copy imported files to library).

just a theory not proven though smile
