I dont know if they was posted here but here is information for them.
1.8” MK8007GAH 80GB and 1.8” MK4007GAL 40GB

I dont have any idea for MK8007GAH but with MK4007GAL is good thing for X505 uprade if it’s available to buy in one day soon.

So you think the drive in X505 can be easily upgraded? I know you’ve mastered to open it up already. I was not sure how the drive is connected there. If it is a matter of just pulling it out and putting a new one, that’sd be great!

Thanks for the update. I am definitely interested if the 80GB is compatible with the TR series.

Yes, x505’s hard drive can be easily to remove and upgrade to newer drives.
You can only use following hard drive with x505:
- MK2004GAL (Factory default)
- MK3006GAL
- MK4007GAL
All drives above are 5mm in height.

As long as the height and bracket is the same (a good bet since they’re going to use these in iPods somehow) I wouldn’t doubt that they’re compatible. Are the 60GB even out in quantity at this point?

That is great! I cann’t wait to upgrade my X505 to 40G! But where I can get this service? I do not want to open it by my own hand. :(

The 60GB is available for sale now; but it will cost you. I found a US etailer selling it for about $350.
