[quote author=“CHris!”]Hey grisjuan, was your problem exactly like mine, like it said the drivers were corrupt?, and were there any specific measures you took to bring it back to life? Mines still dead, although i havent really fiddelled with it for a while:P
Chris
Our experiences sound similar, but I’m not sure if they are exact.
Device Manager showed the “yellow explamation point of death” and said it couldn’t find the device. I don’t remember whether it said the drivers were corrupt, sorry.
The only thing I did was put in a few different disks to see if the drive would read them. Data cds did nothing, but a music cd (just a regular music cd) started playing and magically, the drive showed up in Windows Explorer. I was then able to update the firmware and it has been fine ever since.

Well, it just failed again, so I’m back to the beginning! Sorry to get your hopes up.
