It’s actually a lot closer to the TR in terms of specifications and weight. It might not be bad for a person on a budget. I’m not sure about battery life but you’d figure it’s somewhat decent.

that one’s got a 80 gb hdd. I wonder if it uses the 1.8 in. (if there are 1.8 in. 80 gb hdd around) hdd or the 2.5 in. one.

It’s likely 2.5” if they’re selling it for that price point. 80GB 2.5” disks are easy to get and everyone is making a model so the prices are cheap now.

Also, 60GB 1.8” are barely being mass producted so it’s unlikely that 80GB 1.8” models are easy to get. It also probably accounts for the heavier weight since it needs more space.

Yup saw this model displayed in Bestbuy.. go check it out..  Went with a friend cuz she “needs” consulting what laptop to get..  It has nice screen
I almost thought it was the same as with the Xbrites..  Too girly though… The white plastic actually looks like pearl white that when a light strike it you can see rainbow-like colors… nice though for the price.. but again I don’t know if this will be realiable as my S.. And it has shared memory 64Mb.. Intel 915 not the GME though..  just the regular 915 Graphics on it..

blashphemy!  I refuse to believe it can live up to the VAIO…  maybe because I payed double for it and I want to feel like there was a reason for that… but also because Sony kicks everyone’s butt.

Don’t worry, it doesn’t have all the features of your TR (i.e. firewire, built-in cam, built-in microphone, awesome dedicated forum and community)...

The TR reads 4 types too: Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MS Duo and MS Duo Pro.

I thought a Sony whore is someone who was a complete Sony fanatic…almost every gadget that he/she owns is made by Sony. Yup, the famous meaning for it is prostitute but when I read it here I assumed it meant being a fan of Sony since the people were asked to mention all the Sony products they own. Sorry, if I thought wrong because my english isn’t the best. I have just a couple of Sony products and the main reason why I’m here is for the TR. I did a search on google looking for some help on doing a clean install on my TR and that’s how I found out about this forum.

Drachen, while I haven’t seen the MS pro duo in person, it looks thicker and smaller than the memory stick. And if you’re talking about using some kind of converter/adaptor in which you can place that MS Pro duo and put that inside the TR, I guess that shouldn’t count since by using such things I GUESS even a CF card can be read by the TR.
