System located in Seattle, Washington
Starting off with some system specs for people who aren’t in the know:
This is the smallest and lightest Sony notebook computer that you can buy. In fact, it is the lightest and thinest notebook computer on the market today. This unit is refurbished and goes for $2100-$3000 depending on where you look online. It is no longer available from Sony USA and can only be purchased otherwise for $3000+ from Japanese importers (e.g., Kemplar, Conics, Dynamism).
Intel 855GM Chipset (Extreme 2 Graphics; 64MB Shared)
Pentium M 1.1GHz w/ 1MB L2 Cache
512MB Memory On Board
2 USB, 1 Firewire (with iLink power source)
20GB HDD
Includes both carrying cases and all standard accessories
Accessories:
- PCMCIA Memory Card Reader
- PCMCIA a/b/g WiFi Card
- VGA/NIC Dongle.
The accessories case also has ample room for a mouse and earbuds if you wish to those around.
I’m also including a Panasonic KXL-RW20AN Slim External CD-RW.
Okay, everything is worked out! Contacted Sony 4 times about the computer and have talked to quite a few people, and the “quirk” I’ve spoken of before is simply a quirk of the system standard (in other words, a Sony design flaw). Nothing is wrong with the system cosmeticlly; I’m just a perfectionist who worries about anything that doesn’t look perfect.
One other thing worth mentioning (which you probably wouldn’t have noticed w/o me saying something) is a stuck pixel in the upper left corner. The “stuckness” of the pixel is invisible unless you look at the screen from a LOW angle (head against the table low) or have a full black background (no icons or anything else) to help you locate it. It really isn’t a big deal, but once again this is a perfectionist talking. It looks like other colors and light make their way through as long as it isn’t black… it’s semi-stuck; lazy, if you will =) . It becomes even less visible as you turn the lcd brightness down (I actually thought it was gone at one point!).
The computer will be returned to you in factory standard condition in the original Sony Refurbished packaging. This will include all documentation that I originally received as well.
Please no trade requests; I only need cash. If you plan to pay via PayPal, please add an additional 1.5% (I’ll split the 3% fee with you).
Down to the science!
Here are enough pictures to give you an idea. I’ve also included a .mov file (taken from a digicam) to give you a moving overview of the system. Any reasonable picture request will be granted.
