Does anyone has a good recommendation for a travel-size speaker? My requirements are very simple. I travel a lot and would like to play some music in the hotel room. However, the built-in speakers for my TR3 is simply too soft. I need one that is loud (bass is not too impt, I think) and most importantly ... size must be small.

The TDK speaker CD cases. They are basically a CD/DVD hard travel case, you know the kind of cases that you can carry 10 cd’s or so around with you and some of them fit a walkman too. But these ones actually have quite a decent speaker built into them. (i’ll see if i can find a link…)
They actually give quite decent quality audio and have a neat little velcro strap which allows them to stand up by themselves. I travel with it because i can take a couple of games CD’s and some dvd’s on the road and watch them with good quality audio instead of through headphones.

I love my small JBL On Tour speakers.  I have used them with my Vaio, Ipod, and for for presentations, etc.  Nice balance of size, weight, bass, cost (67$ U.S. at buy.com).  They come mounted in a unique white sliding case with a travel bag and headphone wire to connect to your TR.  They are plenty loud with good depth.  I would not use them to pump out music for a party, but they are nice personal or small group speakers.  I have used many portables over the years for presentations and thanks to Ipods/MP3 players we finally have decent and cheap speakers available.  Not sure about international orders, but here is a link for additional info and pics:

I just bought this one recently. The design is very nice but I was quite disappointed with the volume (which is the main reason for buying them). It’s quite eerie that sometimes they produce sound louder than the TR’s speaker but sometimes it’s softer than the TR’s speaker.
