Hi everybody ( i mean everybody since i havent been on the forum for a while)

My girlfriend just received a pink Ipod mini ( yep she is blond :wink:  :wink: )
But she is now having some problem with it. After connecting it to her roommates laptops she is now unable to connect it to her own computer.

I know it s a kind of “protection” from apple to avoid people to take MP3 all over, but i was wondering if there was anyway to bypass that thing?
Is there any crack or something like that to be able to use an ipod with different computer?
And if it doesnt what does she have to do in order to be able to use her ipod (back) with her computer? Formatt the playlist and do a new one?

The ‘protection’ is only implimented by iTunes so if you use anapod explorer you can connect to the iPod and copy off the mp3s.

Then using iTunes re-initialise the iPod with her computer (which involves formatting it) and then import the mp3s into iTunes and back onto the iPod.

Of course if you’ve still got the original mp3s on a computer then you don’t need to worry about about saving them.  It’s just quicker than re-ripping all your cds again :wink:

Well my housemate carries the anapod installer around on his iPod so he can just use it on anyones computer.  I believe it works like iTunes in that you can put mp3s on the iPod, but it also allows you to take the mp3s off again…

iTunes registers the iPod to a specific computer to try and stop just being able to hook up to your mates pc and put his music on ‘as well’ as keeping your own on there.

I have an iRock mp3 player and to put songs on it or take them off, after plugging it to the comp, windows would give it a drive letter so one can copy files to it or vice-versa directly without any software. May be the same can be done for the ipod too
