I’ve noticed that when I put the profile to Max Battery Life and I’m not connected to an AC power source, the screen dims to the lowest level (no bars at all in the brightness bar chart).  This is pretty hard to see and I always manually adjust it to about three clicks from the highest brightness setting.

I’m wondering what you all do with regards to this.  I feel as though I’m basically eliminating the purpose of the Max Battery Life profile once I manually pump up the brightness…

I have my Max Battery Life Profile set to 3 squares out of 8 on battery life, it’s perfectly readable and gets me about 4 hours of battery life with WiFi on. Even on AC Power it’s at 4 squares, I only bump it up above that when watching something.

I run 6/8 on AC…unless I’m watching something. On Maximum Battery, I drop down to 4/8 although I may adjust that manually depending on where I’m at.
