Here is a fantastic website for free downloads to demo PC games. You don’t even have to register.
http://gr.bolt.com/download/pc/pc.htm
I am a big fan of 3rd person games and it even has them also, like ONI and Heavy Metal FAKK2. Both run great on my T250 at 1024x768.
I can get Half Life 2 to play smooth as butter full screen and I mean FULL screen (1280x768 widescreen 16:10) but only on the first chapter of the demo. I am trying these demo games and am in the middle of editing digital video on my T250 before I post a review of it. So far I am quite pleased with the performance.

The Far Cry demo does not work well at all; not playable. There’s only so much the T250 can do with up to date intense graphics games.

I tried the second level of Half Life demo at a lower resolution and it works pretty well now. First part works excellently at full wide screen.

Sorry Mike; I am a long time Mac user. PC gamers usually get all the latest stuff before it comes to the Mac. I bought the T250 because Apple has no PC slot equipped laptops 12” and under, otherwise I would have probably stuck with Apple. So I am pretty green when it comes to PC gaming. Have you toyed with the resolutions on the Half Life 2 demo?

Good luck. From what I’ve seen, that game eats high-end equipment for breakfast. If you do get it to run, let us know the results. :D

All I can say is WOW. HALO plays exceptionally well at 640x480 at high quality settings, and it automatically played at full screen without any additional adjustments. 640x480 at high quality setting with such a small screen did not strike me as looking too bad at all; guess it would have on a larger screen. It is even quite playable at full screen native resolution 1280x768 although there is some stutter. The demo drops you into the beach landing scene with multiple enemies; a great level. I will see what other settings will work if any after I get off from work, but I must say I am pleaseantly surprized. I have already won a bid on ebay for one of my favorite 3rd person games called ONI for $4.99 plus $4.50 postage. I know the ONI demo played very well also at 1024x768, so we’ll see. Though not rated very highly on its debut ONI is a great game in my opinion due to the heroines ability to use hand to hand combat and weapons at the same time. Unlike other 3rd person shooters her aim is very accurate and she has great combo kicks and other moves. Those who haven’t should try the ONI demo!

Sweet spot for the T250 seems to be 1024x600 with the HALO demo; hardly any stutter and it looks great at full screen. Too bad I played it more than once on my 17” Powerbook, I might have been tempted to buy the PC version of the game. Nevertheless, hopefully HALO 2 will play just as well when it comes out for the PC.
