Anyone else notice that when the lid of the T150/250 is closed, the rough edge of the midnight blue rough surface material on the lid will scratch the plastic area above the keyboard with all of the lights and DVD buttons.  I have had two of these now and both were kept in a semi-hard Vaio suede case, yet both have developed scratches in about a week. 

You will need look at this area from a different angle as the light reflects off the metalic flecked plastic. I am very disappointed and am reluctant to get another T until this is fixed.  I hate knowing that even careful daily use produces scratches in a very prominent area of the notebook.  Ugh! Anyone else chime in here?  Buddy1025?

So far there is absolutely no evidence of any scratching in the area of which you speak. There seems to be plenty of clearance with the lid open, but this clearance seems to diminish as the lid closes; however I see or hear no evidence of contact between the lid and hinge area where the indicator lights and DVD controls are located. It is odd I have heard of no such problem on these forums. If you know of any other incidents such as yours I would be very interested in knowing about it. Your laptop is defective in my opinion. I would try to get another replacement or repair. The hinge is probably misaligned.

Thanks for the replies.  I am perplexed still.  The scratches are in the identical place on each one.  Could it be the case?  I doubt it because the scratches seem to up and down as if when the screen is opened it etches scratches in the plastic.  Never had this happen with my TR (although very different design).  I thought the chances of having two bad machines very remote, but now am stumped.

I have very light scratches in the area you describe.  Mine are actually worse on the screen side as opposed to the button area so I can live with it for the time being.  I have just gotten in the habit of running a cloth through the crack when cleaning my screen.
