Right,
Can anyone recommend a mouse that connects to me tr5 without wires, but can make use of the inbuilt bluetooth/wireless rather than having to attach a dongle or whatever they’re called to my usb port.
Also if using a bluetooth mouse, will the bluetooth interfere with wireless conectivinty is used at the same time?

Even as I make this reply, I’m using a Microsoft “Wireless Intelimouse Explorer for Bluetooth” with my TR1MP and its internal Bluetooth.  The Bluetooth is simultaneously connected to my Nokia 6630 cellphone for a 3G wireless connection to the internet (I’m on site at the moment) and I can see (but I’m not authorized to connect) the WiFi lan in the office I’m in.

Bluetooth, WiFi and cellphone comms all permeate my vicinity!  No apparent interference.

Yup, Microsoft do one, which comes with a dongle, but you don’t need to use it.

Averages about 3 weeks battery life however….

I believe theres a lot that come with the usb dongle since theres still a good few laptops without internal bluetooth ... Ive used a few different bluetooth mice on mine without conflicts to the internal chip.  I do prefer the bluetake thou.

I’ve been using a USB Kensington PocletMouse where the cord wraps inside the mouse. It worked great, but the cord wrapper broke. Now I have a coil of cord in the way.

I’ve been looking at BT, but from what I can see, they are either very large or don’t have built-in chargers. I have noticed there are quite a few less expensive wireless mice with USB dongles, but I don’t want a dongle, and none of these say they support BT.

Also, I’ve heard that BT 2 doesn’t interfere with WiFi as much. Someties I work rather far from my access point. The connection is OK, but BT interference would make a big difference in my connect speed, and might even knock me off.

I guess I’ll just have to wait a while until BT becomes more popular, and there’s more choices.

and doesnt need a dongle - it connects straight to the tr (and looks pretty cool too) 8)

Hmmm - like the look of that Rich, I’ve got a Logitech Dinovo Bluetooth desktop, but I’m putting it up for sales with all my other stuff I think - I have a small Microsoft notebook mouse, but it’s extremely erratic..

Is the Bluetake mouse available generally in the UK or do you have to visit a specialist or mail order?

I may have found the mouse I’ve been looking for. The MacAlly BTMicro   should look great with a TR. I wish they had a color more suitable for my T.

I like it because it comes with a charger / stand. The review claims 3 days + battery life. Some people prefer a USB charger, but I’m either using my lappy or it’s off. I don’t take many long trips, and the TR does have a built-in touchpad that I can use if the mouse batteries die.

I’ll know more in a week. I’m too cheap to pay for faster shipping from Amazon.

Might be a bit late for this post, but anyway..

I’m using an ‘Anycom’ Bluetooth mouse which I bought about 6 weeks ago.

It comes with a USB charging dock (nice if you’re like me and hate frigging about with batteries)
I leave it on constantly, and I’ve only had to charge it twice. - You soon know when the batteries are running low, as the pointer jitters all over the place!
Nice size for portability, and considering my fairly large hands it’s been a good size for all day use too
