how about a last 10 topics, rather than last 5…?
i see the site members are growing, and the recent posts get ‘knocked out of action’ a bit too quickly…what do you think?

Not that I am saying it’s a bad idea, but you can always click on the ‘latest’ button on the top right, it will take you to all the new posts since you’ve been here.

yeah i know, it was just an idea, doesnt have to be ten, we could compromise, how about 50%? last 7.5 posts?  :D

frankly, I wouldn’t mind if groovy removed those last 5 topics thing altogether. I hardly ever use it because most of the times when I visit, there are more than 5 new topics so I click the Latest button to see all of them. I only use the last 5 topics section if there are less than 5 new topics.

The real problem is that you don’t visit the forum obsessively. Once you become obsessive about it, the Last 5 Topics list becomes essential.

If so, then there are days when I too am obsessive

Don’t worry dear friends…I’m working on something that should “hopefully” make most happy…I just got my S back up and running so I can finally finish the site changes.

How about putting in 10 latest topics as suggested by Mike but provide a scroll bar so that the entire thing would occupy the same space as it does now?

Or better still, give an option to the user to turn off or on the last 5 topics feature altogether.  :idea:

Just like Erik mentioned, I simply use the “Latest” link and see all the active topics since my last visit. It really can’t get any easier than that.
