IF there is going to be a ‘continuity of supply’ does that mean non-pre orders will have plenty of opportunities to pick them up.
I still think that the PSP will be hard to get on the shelf. With Ebay, the PSP will be distributed on a secondary market quite easily. Shortages will be caused by people snagging the PSP and offering it to the highest bidder anywhere in the country for a quick buck.
I stopped in my store today to ask about the cases…they didn’t get any in. They have 19 Pre-Orders thusfar…Sony told them they are getting 20 PSPs leaving 1 Pre-Order left.
Funny note…they have had 17 Cancelations from older pre-orders before the price announcement.
Ok, so I picked up that $9.99 metal case at EBgames yesterday…um, it’s HUGE. I’ll try and take a pic, but honestly it going back. I ordered the leather case from ebay…if I need a case like that (metal one) to protect my PSP then my PSP will go unprotected. I would need a gigantic bag to carry that thing around in, it’s not even funny.

I saw a BestBuy flyer today and they will open early as well to sell PSPs - it said 40 PSPs minimum per store. I wonder if WalMart will start selling them at midnight like GameStop?
In my area it’s 15-20 per store for most of the major stores. That sucks. For those who haven’t pre-ordered…are you going to get in line?
I’m still not sure…the last two things I got in line for were Windows 95 (even though I already had it through my work’s MDSN subscription) and a Nintendo 64 (yeah, i know).
Most stores claim to be opening early at 8am. Of course, all the freaks will be in line the night before camping out in front of the store.
I guess if enough of us get a PSP maybe groovy will decide to make a section…
Anyway, as promised, here are the pics. Honestly, if someone wants to carry this damn thing around, good for them, to me, I’d rather carry around a PS2 Slim first

And yes, I plan on getting one. My only concern is that the “1st revision” PSP units will likely have some problems in them. Of course, it’s too soon to know what they’ll be but I generally prefer the Rev A01 or A02 models.
But, it IS a gadget…and so I must give in to it. Of course, the gaming lineup doesn’t impress me at all. Initially, I would be using it as a glorified MP3/Atrac3/video player.

They are selling for like $285 buy it now on ebay, I don’t think there will be that many lacking, IMO.
I still prefer a simple leather case from PDAir.
