How do you guys clean your lovely xbrites?  I’m looking for a method that leaves no ugly streaks when the screen is black.  Also, is there any way to make the TR’s screen dust-resistant or something?  It seems to attract every single dust particle in the room.

If you clean your displays with a volatile cleaning solution, it should evaporate without any streaks.  I recommend disposable eyeglass wipes.  I use a brand called See Clear myself.  You can find it in drugstores.  I get mine at Costco (in the pharmacy dept).

Preventing dust is a bit more difficult.  If you wipe any surface in your computer room and it has as much dust as the notebook screen, then you probably just need to dust and vacuum more?  Dust buildup occurs more in dry climates where static electricity occurs more frequently.  Dust is attracted to static charges.

For cleaning, I’ve been using the combination of a 3M microfiber cloth and Kensington Screen Guardian without a single problem.  I bought the two products ~3 years ago at compusa and the combo has yet to fail me… I regularly clean all of my LCDs and still have half a bottle of the cleaning solution left - the stuff lasts a long time.

My solution was going down to my local sun glasses retailer (sunglass hut) and picking up one of their 3$ solution + cloth pack and it works perfectly from my opinion and comes in a fancy little carrying case of its own that fits perfectly into my laptop bag.

Water…a wet bounty usually does the trick; and a microfiber cloth to polish it off - the Sony Vaio cleaning cloth is good; so are the ones at  

Although everybody tells me not to I use Windex (amonia free) and a rag.  So far I haven’t had any problems with either of my laptop screens.

Just got Klear Screen from Frys.. it has anti-static properties..  and it doesn’t smell bad like the ones I had from Sun Glass Hut’s..

(1) Klear Screen Spray Bottle
(3) Klear Kloths - where you can just fold them at a time
(1) Travel size Micro-Chamois polishing cloth
(2) Klear Screen Travel singles.

Me too.  Keep it simple.  Fancy cleaning solutions don’t impress me.

I use this . It’s a simple microfiber cloth, so if you have one don’t bother with this and you can use that one safely.

Spit and polish is the best.  It’s been used for thousands of years…
Spit is a wonderful de-greaser and is non-smear
And it’s free
And readily availiable…

Now that’s an idea..  Sad to say the Xbrite screen is not similar to leather shoes..  I don’t have to be very detailed about that..   

Water

I use 210 Plastic Cleaner/Polish on all my screens with a VAIO cleaning cloth, it has antistatic and polishing agents. We have used it in aviation for years, it will not scratch!!!! You can also use Plexus.
