Howdy all—I’ve got a TR5AP in the mail from Ubid, and am trying to get ready for its arrival.  I just ordered all the parts to do the Bluetooth add, and was thinking I might as well see if I can order the recovery disks and have them thrown in as well.

Only problem, I’m not sure which disks I need.  Anyone know the part number, or do I have to wait until I get my machine?  If I had to hazard a guess, I would say it’s part # X46218321, but the servicesales.sel.sony.com site doesn’t exactly have the most helpful product descriptions…

Hi, you will be getting a great machine, I have been using mine since october last year and it’s great.

I posted a request a few months ago, as I have the TR5B (japanese model) I have been trying to find someone that can send me the BIOS image for TR5AP.

I have tried all avenues but yet unable to get the BIOS, I have the Recovery DVDs, sitting on my desk, but useless until I get the BIOS.

If you can assist would be greatly apprecaited.

No, the search feature is screwy at best. However, the Sony part numbers are in alpha-numeric order. So, I tried bracketing the page links and #15 came up with the answer in two tries.

I think I’ll buy a lottery ticket tonight!

FWIW, I called Frank at ServiceSales to see if he could add the recovery dvd to my internet order of the Bluetooth conversion parts.  Figured I’d try to save myself $6.95 in shipping.

His answer was that he could cancel the internet order, then place it all in one order over the phone.  I went for it, but it seemed to take quite a bit of time—I probably ended up paying the $6.95 just on the international phone call!  Hey, but at least it will all arrive in one box…
