My computer seems to have a slow boot up since yesterday. Its unusually slow like 1 min long. The only two things that I did yesterday was installing a driver for a external dvd drive and a network card. Anyone have any ideas since im a little bit computer illiterate. Thanks

i tot of that but my computer runs fine when after booting. Wat software is the best for checking for spywares

i jus scanned for spyware with the microsoft antispyware program and i dont have any spyware…..

Double click the time on your taskbar.  Then click on Internet Time.  Disable the sychronizationi box. 

That MITE help.  It DID help me.  There was a lag time after I logged on and when I can actually open and use programs.

run them all that’s what I do, mainly because they can’t catch every known spyware.  You’ll notice if you run them back to back each catches different ones.

my startup time has always been over one minute on my tr5, does that mean that something isn’t set up properly or something like that?  :? I assumed that a startup time of more than one minute was normal.

I don’t have any unnecessary startup programs and I’m very careful about virus/spyware scans etc.

edit: oops my mistake, i just realised this was an x505 topic :oops: even so, does this still apply to a tr5?

If you ever face slow booting in windows based machine please use
bootvis program(use google to find this)
This is small apps from Bill G.which monitor booting procesess and(first) and after restart shows which of them takes more resources and time.
Afterwards you could use optimisation button
Works and its wont damage you tool like most freeware or shareware application(*** cleaner,tweaks bla bla etc)
