Installed VAIO Zone 1.2 on my TR2, U750P, R505 and R820G the only thing that does not work is the DVD player in the zone. Anyone know how to fix this? Maybe I need a new or special version of WINDVD 5 for VAIO?
[quote author=“Anonymous”]Like vaio zone 1.2 that I got from the HK website? I can’t seem to find it.
If you follow gr00vy0ne’s VAIO Zone 1.2 installation guide, you ought to find WinDVDX folder within VAIO Zone 1.2’s folder. The setup file is in that folder.
Edit: Forgot to mention that you can use InterVideo WinDVD 4 in place for WinDVD 5 for VAIO. VAIO Zone 1.2 will recognize it as WinDVD 5 for VAIO.
This may sound really sad, but checking out vaio zone on a T series in my local store today I noticed some lovely movie animations of dolphins and flowers etc.
Now I’ve installed Vaiozone on my TR thanks to the above instructions, but I’d love to know where to get hold of those movie clips so I can run them in the background - I think they’re gorgeous.
Anyone fancy zipping them up and sending them to me?
I absolutely can’t get VAIO Zone to play dvds on my TR, it woks fine on my R820G and my U750P. I have followed the install to a “T” and still it will not work, any ideas?

You will need to have WinDVDx and WinDVD 4 installed.
Thanks avidpaker, but I don’t have that folder - I guess it gets installed with the original version of VAIOZone - I only have the updated 1.2, as VZ didnt originally ship with my TR.
If anyone has these files I’d be chuffed if they could zip ‘em up and post the file on the web for me - I seem to have got a fixation about this for some silly reason!!
This is actually one of the reasons I’m thinking of going out and getting a T1XP -can you believe it?
I went to the local comp usa today to kill time, and I previously I saw this fourm on VAIO ZONE. I tried installing it on my TR but to no avail I could not find the temp directory. This was not my concern.
When playing with the software on a S type I noticed a really bad lag problem when loading the menus and some files.
Does this happen on the TR for those who installed it?
PS: Sony did it agian this is a elegant and phat looking peice of software… Tonight im def gonna try and get it on agian.
well my honeymoon with VAIOZONE on my new T was over in only a few hours - its slow, bloated but as with most Sony software, it has much potential, but it’s execution is cack.
OK, I followed the instructions, got the Vaio Zone to install and all is right with the world. Ok, not quite. I’ve gotten Music, DVD, and CD to work, however, I cannot for the life of me get the pictures to work. I’ll keep trying, but if anyone has any useful tips, I would appreciate it.
BTW: In order to get the DVD to work. After following the intial instructions, I again installed the update, which worked this time, and it updated/installed WinDVDx.
