I recently had gotten a TR2AP1 here in the US and I’ve noticed on quite a few ocassions that there is a blue light on inbetween the wireless LAN and the Memory stick lights.  It flickers like it’s searching for something and it stays on for around 10-20 seconds.  Has anyone else seen this?  Since this model isn’t suppose to have Bluetooth, I curious.

That really is curious…the blue light there is supposed to be a bluetooth light. i wonder if there’s a bt unit hiding within your system…I’ve never seen one in mine…

Is there any mention of it in the device manager?

I don’t see anything specific there, but I also installed a USB Belkin BT and it removed any previous BT instances.  Is there any way to tell if one is physically installed?

I take it the blue light shouldn’t be coming on?

The only way to tell is to open up the system and look for it inside. It would be located on the bottom left side near the hard disk under the left palm rest area.

OK, I’ll bite.  Where do I go to find info on opening the beast and getting to this area?  What will it look like?

Surely this should be possible without opening the system up? What if you go into Device Manager and check all the USB hubs that are listed. In the Power tab it tells you what is connected or there is free ports available.

From my understanding you should have 2 USB ports which are the external ones on the TR, 1 will have the Motion Eye, 1 for the Memory Stick reader (USB, yeah?), and then if you have something else then that could well be a Bluetooth module. I haven’t got my TR yet but this is how I imagine it is configured. Is there anything else USB on the TR? I cannot think of anything off the top of my head.

Still if you want to take it apart, go ahead. If you do can you get us some really good pictures of the motherboard? I’d like to see if I can workout where the final USB connector is that the BT module would actually sit on. Just as I’m curious, my TR is gonna have Bluetooth in it already.
