The needs of my job require me to upgrade my machine, so I am first offering this on this forum before I put it on eBay.

Its a Sony TR1A model (XP Home) 512MB with wireless/DVD/CD BUT with upgraded components - see below.

This machine is about two years old - I have had it from new. Its got an upgraded DVD-RW/CD-RW UJ812B drive (It had the UDJA745 fitted which failed), a new 40GB Toshiba hard drive (upgraded from the original 30GB for more space) and and the wireless card is now the Intel 2200 802.11b/g. (Upgraded from 802.11b for reasons of speed)

RAM is 512Mb in one of the 2 slots. It can take another 512MB

Battery is in excellent shape and still performs as new.

Touchpad works great.

The screen functions 100% with no dead pixels and has 2 scratches about 3/8” long side by side on the surface that are visible when those areas are bright.

The camera does not work since I upgraded to SP2 a month ago and suffers from the black line disease for which I am sure there is a cure.

The machine comes with the original restore disks for XP Home.

The case is virtually pristine since I had a nice padded sleeve for this machine. It even still has all the original stickers on it. The PSU is the neat slim Sony brick with the illuminated plug

I am realistic in what i expect and am asking for offers. I’ll require payment by PayPal and shipping is at buyer’s cost to the confirmed address anywhere in the USA and maybe elsewhere if the buyer has eBay history. I have the original boxes etc.

What are you upgrading to?

Probably a Fujitsu T4010 Convertible Tablet/PC.

The note taking and sketching part of TabletPC XP is really good for me for meetings and being able to email the doodles and idease and keep as electronic paper, but I need a bigger HD as well as the keyboard for Docs and Spreadsheets, reports etc. The limitations of the 1.8” HD’s are too much when you have lots of engineering drawings to deal with.

I still love the TR’s. They travel so well….......

Thanks TR666x. I will trade the small form factor of the TR for the funcsionality of Tablet PC/XP. You machine is great machine and offers more storage, but its not where I want to go right now.
