My HP 930c died yesterday. I see it’s not worth getting it fixed, since a new printer would not be far off, price-wise. It was a colour inkjet which I used occasionally for printing out receipts, mostly, and an occasional colour thingy.
I am not up on the hot printers right now and don’t want to get a piece of junk because I was uninformed… which is why I’m asking here. Can anybody recommend a similar printer?
are u looking for printers only or the 2 in 1, 3 in 1 type will also do and is the color thing mandatory or u can live without it?
If not, then I have the Canon MF3110 printer…3 in 1 (scanner, laser printer and copier). It’s excellent and I originally spent 217 bucks on it from staples.com, but it came with a $50 rebate.
There is a color version available too, but that costs around 150-200 bucks more.
No, not into that 3 in 1 thing—I just want a printer that does colour. I was happy with my HP, since it printed well for my not-very-demanding standards.
Ok, I think I found one for me: the Canon ip4000 looks pretty and it fulfills my very basic printing needs. I’ll order it on Monday, so please feel freeto vent or praise… since I know nothing about which printers are hot or not.
I personally like Canon printers better. I currently have a Canon S300. The black ink is only $6+ and color ink is $17 at Wal-Mart (compared to most over-priced ink cartridges), and I can get over 100 pages printed (maybe close to 200). I think it’s done a fabulous job with quality, and I wouldn’t choose any other printer over it.
I’m in college, so that’s why I’m always looking for quality at bearable price. You can get a brand new S300 at ebay for around $30—a low-price investment worth every penny. Otherwise, retail is about $100.
Heh I was just looking at printers before I strolled over to the forums here, granted you said you didnt want a 3 in 1 but I found this thing on new egg then hit pricewatch for cheaper prices and for the price I really think this would be a good device to have.
Read the reviews for it on newegg and everyone had good stuff to say on it.
