Ok…I’m not sure if I’ll get in trouble for this…but because I love you all…
How to install VAIO Zone 1.2
I can verify that this works on my VAIO VGN-S170P and may work on your S, T or TR assuming you don’t already have VAIO Zone / Do VAIO loaded.
1. First, go to here and download the file. This is for English language versions of Windows. If you use a different version then you’ll need to find the appropriate version. I can’t help you there.
2. Run the file. It will most likely fail to install. That’s fine. Before you press anything. Quickly go peek at wherever your TEMP files are pointing too. In most cases, it’s in your user profile somewhere. I normally move my TEMP files to point to C:\TEMP so it’s easy for me to find.
3. Inside your TEMP directory you’ll find a cryptic directory name (or several if you don’t regularly clean your TEMP directories) and inside of it you’re looking for VE Platform and VAIOEnt folders. Copy those somewhere safe. You can now close the “failed” install dialogue box.
4. Run the setup in VE Platform first. This should update whatever version you have installed and is required before installing the other.
5. Run the setup in VAIOEnt and it will install the latest 1.2 version of VAIO Zone onto your system.
6. You’re done. No restart needed. Run VAIO Zone and be merry!
