I bought a Japanese model of X505/CP. Actually dynamics.com have re-installed the English OS and all the drivers, and most applications in English version in this model, but except this one: VAIO Power Management. I think sony installed this applications for all of their centrino notebooks, if anyone have a English version of these notebooks (for example, the VGN-X505ZP), you can find it in your computer. I have searched it for a long time, but just could not find the English version.
Can somebody help me out and share the English version of this software? Any suggestion will be highly appreciated!
Hey I have an English model of X505, which is X505ZP. I will try to tinker with it and see if I can extract the installer for VAIO Power Management. I have not gotten rid of that recovery partition yet (not sure whci way to go and would hate to buy Partition Magic just to use it once to remove it).
Coolfire74, send me an email just in case, and I will let you know if I succeeded.
P.S. There are not many X505 users on here…I know of only 3 - me, you and Tifo.
I am not sure Ishii…. I was wondering that myself, because as the Developer’s Story says they had to create that utility specifically for X505 because of the architecture of its CPU and components.
Anyway, I just do not want to have a program runing in my computer I can not fully understand what this program says. Although after couple of months, I have already figured out most of the items show in the setting.
By the way, with this utility, the X505 works quite cool. Now my CPU runs at 43.0 oC, HDD at 41.0 oC, about 80% (I guess) of my time, the CPU runs at 600 mHz (I have been using IE and Office2003 for about 4 hr continuously). As I can recall, the highest temprature I has ever got with the CPU was around 55-60oC, but usually, it goes down to around 45 oC in one or two minutes.

Np, is it more english then yours? (sorry, I know that was a terrible sentance, but you get the point)
Erik
Thanks, Eric,
Sorry to tell you that, they are just the same. Although if possible, I still want a English version, probably it is not a big deal now. I asked one of my Japanese friend to translate those japanese character for me yesterday. I should have done this before.

Using the same version I only have 5 Jap settings…maybe 10-15 english ones. Is your Windows still setup for Asian Languages?
