It has journeyed out for a dog walk in 10[sup]0[/sup] weather to capture some photos. But they were lost when I was forced to restore the OS because of a buggy download (IE security patch or Mozilla nightly build or NewsMonster?)

It is possible to balance the TR2A on one’s chest while watching CNN ad naseum without suffering respiratory compromise.

I am still reticent to depend on the Windows OS for stability but am contemplating the XP Pro upgrade to enhance stability (see other post ?).

Upgrading to XP Pro is not going to make your system any more stable. The differences between XP Home and Pro are essentially superficial with Pro adding additional networking abilities and a few security enhancements. The underlying operating system is identical.

Also, upgrading the non-pro TR’s can be a headache if you don’t know what you’re doing. If you don’t have a specific reason why you need to upgrade then I would leave it alone.

My TR is rock solid. The only time I’ve gotten a bluescreen is when I tried to install some unsigned drivers.

I’m with ya on this one.  The TR is an absolute joy to use.  I just purchased the Sony 2-yr extended warranty so this puppy should be good to go for a while.

I beg to differ on Home vs. Pro. I am our computer administrator at work (9 computers) and with my 4 at home all Sony’s I have found that networking on down, Pro has some other kernel diffs, etc, that make it more stable. Home has been a :xeno:  lot more tempermental.
