hi all-

when i go to print from the tr2ap3 i have an option to print to the ms document image which creates and mdi file.  the question is:  can i dl this program from somewhere?  where is it from sony?  or from office 2003?  i need it on another computer.

It’s from Office 2003. It’s basically MS’s version of PDF. Unless you really need it, don’t use it.

is there a way to load it up on office xp?  see the problem i have is i need to save documents and then email them to another computer to print.  (long story, so i wont go into it)  what would be the best program to do this with.  the ms image thing was working good until i needed it on the other computer which didnt have it.

Acrobat is the gold standard for this these days.

Too bad I can’t find the article online about people against PDF’s. I sort of agree, they are a pain, take forever to load when embedded in a webpage…etc, etc…but they are the standard

There are a few .doc to .pdf conversion tools that are free out there…

I agree…PDF is slow but it’s extremely useful. I found this excellent little tool that allows you to disable some of the plug-ins that the Adobe Reader uses and it significantly increases the speed of loads.

You can disable/re-enable the plugins as needed. I’ve only found a few instances where I need to put the default settings back. Normally, I keep it slim and PDFs load very fast.

Oh, and if you want a free PDF writer then you might want to try this one out:

It adds a new printer to your system and when you print it outputs a PDF file. It’s a nice alternative if you don’t want/need the full Adobe Acrobat software.

Hate the viewer, not the format. I agree totally about Adobe’s bloated, slow memory hog of a viewer, but the format itself is quite useful. My company typically uses them for legal documents and for sending read-only financial reports to higher-ups. They are easily locked down so that people can’t fiddle with them (lawyers and execs don’t have the wherewithall to crack them) and they print beautifully, and as importantly, consistantly.

Your right…the viewer, not the file. But the file is useless without the viewer…*sigh*

I can’t believe I can’t find the site…it was like 100 pages of anti PDF writings…too funny.

I still use PDFs, the world still uses PDFs, I’ll still complain, lol.

Gr00vy would you know why or how to fix this:

i dl the pdf4u but when i try to save a word doc as a pdf the margins are all messed up and 1/4 of the data gets cut off?  is there a simple way to correct that?

fixed it.  i just needed to change the paper type.

what other uses are there for this program?  i am a little unclear.  is it worth the registration?

also do you know why a certain pdf isnt showing up properly fonts etc…
