Laptop is 6 months old, not a single scratch, looks like brand new.
It is a TR3A but I add another 512mb of Ram (Kingston) and upgrade OS to windows XP Pro (A full version of Win XP will be included).  So it’s basically a TR3AP2.  Also I did the internal bluetooth upgrade.

I am located in Vancouver, BC.  I prefer local pick up.

I have been thinking of selling my TR3A very soon.  I would be looking for either a ‘T’ series or ‘S’ series.  My search for the ultimate OQO style gadget has left me with empty results.  I think that form factor needs a little more time to evolve.

My battery has over 170 cycles.  It is in well cared for condition with the original box and packaging.  No dead pixels or any noticable scratches.  Where do you guys think I should price this thing?  $1000?  $1200?

well i dont know, but if your unit is in such a perfect condition as you claim ,why not charge them 1200 $ .. agreed newegg or other retailers might have it for a little above that rate, but then you have done much to keep your laptop in prime condition, so you should benefit.

If i were to sell my lappy now, say about 5 months old, no scratches whatsoever, and still under warranty .. i’d want atleast about a 1000 £ for it.

There is a BIG difference here. You stay in the US, while i reside in the UK. If you check prices for TR5MP, similar ones on ebay UK, you will find they ( i think there are only about 3 on offer ) range from 850-1000 £.

Your forgetting we in the UK pay about 30 % more for these machines + VAT. So no its not a joke. Infact its anything but.

I am totally agree with writetovarun. We are being ripped off here in UK. Recently I have got a my new S2XP, and tempting to sell my TR2MP (upgraded to 1GB RAM) if I have got a reasonable offer.

how old is your TR5 ? How much do you think one could expect for it ? I bought mine for about 1400 + VAT. And its 6 months old, almost. I plan to upgrade my mem soon to 1.5 GB so i hope that will, if nothing else, appreciate its value a tad.

Mine is TR2MP but not the TR5MP, so it comes with the 1GHz processor/40GB HDD/DVD/CD-RW, and my upgraded 1GB RAM (Kingston RAM), of course with the ORIGINALLY built-in Bluetooth and WiFi b/g. It is about 11 months old, I bought it directly from SonyStyle.co.uk for £1699 (incl. VAT). As I saw a TR1MP (900MHz/512MB RAM) selling for £900 in the ebay, so I would be quite pleased if I could sell mine at around that price.

So if anyone here interested, please feel free to give me any reasonable offer! The machine is in as new condition, guarantee NO scratches inside out and perfect battery life! It will go with a FREE original Sony Slip Case. I live in Manchester and prefer CASH & CARRY! I’m selling it because I have got my new S2XP!  8)
