What are some of the quietest, 2.5”, 5400 RPM, 60-80GB, +2MB cache hard drives
that you would recommend for the S? 
I have an emphasis on quietness but (for those of you with and S) the same amount of
audible noise is perfectly acceptable.

some people upgrade to hitachi 7k60
7200 rpm and 60 gb, they report that it’s as quiet as the OEM

Dumb question but since we are talking hard drives is would that drive also work in a Sony TR3 series laptops?

No, the S series uses 2.5” hard drives while the TR’s use the newer 1.8”.
Which happen to be maxed at, I believe, 40GB and 4200RPM.  However,
Toshiba has plans to, very soon, roll out with a new 60GB model, but I am
unsure whether they will come out with 5400RPM soon.

Just bought a Hitachi Travelstar 5K80 80GB of ebay for my USB2/Firewire pocket enclosure.

Has anyone upgraded to this?  Anyway review or feedback? I read that the spec is ATA-6 any difference with our stock Type S drive?

How much batt life was suffered? Noise?
