[quote author=“Pop E Chu”]why not?
I use my notebook for:
1. OneNote
2. Word
3. Internet Explorer
4. Outlook Express
5. HTML (Dreamweaver)
I don’t see a reason to use Linux for any of these…

I have 2 Linux boxes at home, still no need for it on my notebook. It won’t help me in any way that I can see…most importantly it doesn’t run OneNote which is what I use 90% of the time I use my notebook.

One of my Microsoft/Windows hater friends decided to completely switch over to linux (he is very knowledgeable about linux). Soon he found life real hard on it. Then he had to start running Windows from within linux since he needed to use it. Ultimately since he found windows to be extremely slow and linux to be of no use to him, he did a format and installed just windows…
...and is much happier now

He doesn’t have a TR so the camera is out. Partly, it was work related, because often he found himself using windows (from within linux)...don’t ask me for what because even I dont know the details. Then the softwares….there are a plethora of them available for windows, while linux wouldn’t be anywhere close. Basically, he had very proudly said that he’ll switch over wholly to linux after coming to the US which he did but recently quite embarassingly gave up and switched back to windows.

[quote author=“Anonymous”]Can you connect an XP Home to XP Home through Remote Desktop?
It seems from the article that you can only do XP Home to XP Pro and XP Pro to XP Pro, or in short, XP Home cannot be the destination….
Can anyone verify this?
Yes, XP Home cannot host remote desktop. Verified by microsoft.com:

Yes, MS’s RDP FAQ states this explicitly. Your best bet is using something like VNC .

IIRC it had that ability in a couple of the earlier SP2 builds but that ability was removed.
