[quote author=“gr00vy0ne”]Now there’s a game that would be nice to remake…King’s Quest…but not in first person…good old 3rd person may suffice. Or a remake of Legend of Kyrandia would be good too! “Ahh….smell that dairy air…”
Kings Quest is dead because Sierra is dead, or close enough to it.
So is Police Quest…the only thing that survived is LSL.
[quote author=“OnMyWayUp”]2)Why are they planning on using such a large format disc? The fact that it is costing so much to produce will boost up the prices. Also, in order to fill up HALF of 50GB would take about 10 years of source code… I hope they dont expect us to wait that long for the newest bestest release
If there is anything I have learned in 25 years of computer use it’s that programmers will ALWAYS use any space/power you give them. The first IBM PC had 64K (that’s KILOBYTES) of memory and a 4.7mhz processor. Forget about a hard drive.
Quicken used to fit on a single 1.4MB floppy. Now it takes 50MB plus of hard drive space.

Everyone always compares Apple and Sony, nice but overpriced, maybe they realized they can do things together…even nicer and well overpriced
What a nice thought… we would love incredibly nice and incredibly overpriced products made by Sony and Apple together, wouldn’t we

Exactly…just like that exclusive Sony line that escapes my memory at this point…the $2K 5mp camera and whatever…

The size is so they can fit all of Metal Gear Solid 5’s cut scenes onto a single disc!
I found this news item on a PS3 website so it could be wishful thinking but may give some clues.
DTS Surround Sound for PS3
Digital Theater Systems have announced that the DTS Coherent Acoustics Surround sound format will be a “mandatory audio technology” for blu-ray discs, which Sony recently confirmed will feature as the medium for the PlayStation 3.
Given the rivalry, Dolby is also more or less certain of supporting the Blu-ray disc format - hopefully giving Sony supporters some much needed Dolby Digital 5.1. Whatever happens, PS3 should be well equipped for surround sound options.
Although DTS is probably lesser known than Dolby’s Digital and Pro Logic II solutions, it’s nevertheless respected in the DVD sector and a number of PS2 games including Grand Theft Auto: Vice City support it, although Pro Logic II now seems to be more prevalent.
Did you mean it like this?:  [quote author=“MegaManXcalibur”][quote author=“OnMyWayUp”]2)Why are they planning on using such a large format disc?
