Sup guys,

So I returned the DLink DBT-120, and picked up a PCGA-BA1/A and while BluespaceNE authenticates I see the lights on my Belkin GPS flicker, and afterwards, the light goes out, and dosen’t stay connected.  Any ideas?

What does it say on Bluespace?

Well this is what happens from the beginning…

1. Turned on Belkin GPS.
2. Started BlueSpaceNE.
3. Pressed “Device Discovery”
4. The Bluetooth light on my Belkin GPS flickers and it finds the device.  I then see a question mark BelkinGPS Unkown and my mac address, and it says “Device Discovery has been completed at the bottom.
5. Pressed “Service Discovery”
6. It asks “Are you sure you want to authenticate this device?”
7. Clicked yes, and it kicks me to XP’s Bluetooth Connection Wizard.
8. I enter my Pass Key, and it authenticates, and finishes.
9. I see the bluetooth light on my Belkin GPS flicker for about 3-4 seconds and then the light goes out.
10. Then BlueSpaceNE status shows: System was unable to find any services at the bottom.

“your” pass key or the one provided on the manual?

The given one.  Which is 0000 provided by Belkin.  I’m pretty sure that all of them are 0000 since another member on this site had the same key code.

Are you using the latest Bluespace?

I installed the version from the cd.  It’s version: 3.1.00.03310 Is this the lastest version?

I tried downloading BlueSoleil, and that program keeps telling me to insert my bluetooth device.

In Device Manager I have:

Bluetooth Radios
Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator
Sony Bluetooth USB Adapter

Bluetooth VCOMM Port
Bluetooth Virtual COM15
OPEN INTERFACE VCOMM Control Driver for WinSock

Thanks, I’ll go and download that now.  Do I have to uninstall BlueSoleil first?

IT WORKS!  Now the probelm is how do you switch to serial port 4?

You click on the little serial port icon…then go into the belkin software, it should find it.

I was able to change the Bluetooth VCOMM Port in Device Manager to Bluetooth Virtual COM4, and now BlueSpaceNE connects on com 4, I’m not sure if that was the right way to do it, but we’ll see tomorrow.  I can’t seem to get a satellite reading from inside my house even though the unit is sitting in my widow sill.

Does it attempt to look for satellites?

It will if I tell it too, but it always comes up empty.  I hope it’s not the GPS.

thanks dudes! It works now.  I took out the battery and then put it back in, took it for a spin and voila I had 8 sats on me.  The only thing I can’t figure out is out to move that switch to change from st to xt mode.  Also anyone know why the BlueSoleil software dosen’t detect the Sony PCGA-BA1/A?
