I purchased a new front projector for my home theater.  One of my requirements was enough resolution to display my PC on.

The native resolution of the projector is 1280x720 which looks OK at 1280x768 but I am wondering if there is some way to create a setting in Windows XP that would allow 1280x720 or 1024x720 resolution so I can use native projector resolution.

I think things would look sharper.

yea sure, with the projector plugged in and working just do ctrl-alt-f12 and change the resolution. i have an epson home theatre projector and it works great. if that does not work, look for something in control panel for INTEL(R) EXTREME GRAPHICS 2 (m) and change the settings there.  same same. however, i have never figured out how to save those settings and have the projector boot into a specified mode. i always have to boot the high res manually.  oh well…

I tried CTRL-ALT-F12 and nothing happens.  I was able to get to the set up screen you mentioned through Control Panel but I don’t see anyway to set up a 1280x720 resolution.  I can only select from the available resolutions.

Just install the monitor .inf file for that projector on the TR. It should contain all of the resolution and refresh rate capabilities of the projector.

sorry andymac, i did not read your post correctly the other day…i thought u just wanted the normal 1280x786. i have an epson powerlite s1+, i just plugged it in and it looked great.
