i would never get it but for $799.. its not bad for someone on a budget.

Actually the stats are pretty poor for current system (especially the 256MB or RAM).  But the biggest problem I have with it is the utter lack of an internal optical drive.

Still its a nice cheap laptop, I just wish they used something like Slackware or Ubuntu instead of LinSpire.  But thats just personal taste.

Am I the only one that sees no mention of a battery?

It doesn’t have a battery. It seems to be one of those semi-portable computers. All the space saving features of a laptop, but without the expensive battery or the possible for moblie computing without a power source (car cig lighter socket, wall jack, etc.)

It’s good for people that need something about the size of a laptop to use at home, but don’t need to use it on the road. It’s not my type of product, I’m saving up to get a TR because it’s portable, pretty powerful, and I really like the look.

Yeah I wasn’t 100% sure, but I thought that was the case. I think it’s a great idea as I’d venture to say a ton of notebook users never use thier notebook without it being plugged in.
