So I got home from work yesterday and pulled the laptop out of sleep mode and ran a few web browses just fine was chatting with friends on aim ... left the house to do some shopping and come back few hours later and the thing was off. Figured maybe somehow the battery ran out of juice so I plug it in and hit the power button and the power LED and Battery LED light up but nothing comes on at all. Remove the battery and try again with the same results. I can get the lights to come off by disconnecting battery and power but when I try to power it up weather its plugged in or on the battery the poewr and battery leds light with no reaction other than that. Anyone have a suggestion as to what I can look into replaceing?
Didnt know the laptop had a reset button guess Ill look for it when I get home, and unfortuneatly I bought it used but I believe its about 6 months old give or take a month so not sure if they will be any help to me or not. Was so late last night when I got in I just said my few curse words and hit the sack so didnt look at it too much last night.

same here…just found out after reading this post. Any idea if pressing it would also wipe out the BIOS password? If it does, there’s not much point in having a BIOS password
HELP!!!! I have the same problem ... or similar!
my TR5 switches on but wouldn’t boot from the disk or the recovery DVD
The restet button did not work for me. Any idea before I bring it to Sony?
Thanks a lot for your help
sorry ... it was me ... forgot to log-in. Just want to add that the HD light goes on for about two seconds and then goes off. The green power led is on and tha yello battery light also, that’s all! I guess it’s a power management Hardware problem.
I ran in to similar problems a while ago, I tried the reset button and it didn’t work for me too. So I decided there must be something causing it to now load. I took out the memory and reinsert it back, and bam it worked again. Try that, if that doens’t help try opening the comp and reconnect everything.
