Just had to say how happy I am with my T170, especially how easy it was to connect to the internet via Bluetooth, and the awesome battery life.  I’m surprised with the connection speed with Bluetooth….much better than I was expecting.  This is the perfect travel computer.

Definitely. BT (particularly internal BT) has totally made my TR worth worth the cost. Just out of idle curiosity, what phone and service are you using?

I hooked up my nokia 3650 to my TR using the BT connection and the GPRS connection (BASE/KPN in belgium calls it I MODE)

I was amaized by the speed.. it is not adsl but is a good 56k connection, with no loss and a 7euro monthly fee :D

i love the idea to be able to surf the internev everywhere even in the middle of the park… 8)

Your options depend where you are. I’m in the US and I use T-Mobile as my carrier.

I think there is a way to get around the DUN blocking, not 100% sure though…i’ll try and look it up.

I use AT&T (Cingular now?) and my phone is the Motorola V600.  Works flawlessly with the T170…noticeably faster than the dial up.  The V600 also syncs perfectly with my BT in a BMW.

I can go on any webpage via BT, it’s the same as if I’m connected on dial-up or broadband.  As far as cost, I was wondering that myself so I called Cingular and I am charged 1 cent per kb downloaded.  Personally I’m not really a computer genius so I dont’ know what kind of charges I’m piling up by just doing some browsing and checking email while I’m using my BT while I’m in Hawaii.  I know I could use the dial-up for free(and have used it a little bit) because I have a local number I can use, but I’m using BT because it’s faster and obviously more mobile.
