I received mine last monday, 12-20-04. I pre-ordered one back in November. Total paid was $260.98 just for the PSP-1000. It is still in the box as I await the delivery of 2 games I ordered from another website based in Hong Kong, Metal Gear Acid and Shin Sangoku Musho. Both are the Japanese version. We’ll see what happens…

Yes I sold the other with a BuyIt Now! the same day.

Got both as a pre-order with Lik-Sang but you will get hit with Import duties/VAT in UK as they will only send via UPS at the moment.

Games from either play-asia or lik-sang are best place but remember shipping can take a while unless you go for the fast shipping options.

The PSP can be set to work fully in English but the games not so unless you can read Japanese there are only a couple of games you could play. One I have which is Ridge Racers & its fantastic! The other, which hasn’t arrived, is Lumines.

Unless you are desparate for one now I would wait until mid to late January if your going to import to get a better price or wait for UK release.

It is an amazing piece of equipment and I wanted a treat for Christmas but in all honesty a couple of month wait until March isn’t to far away!

Well, I received Lumines today, and the PSP should be arriving tomorrow (if parcelforce break the habit of a lifetime and deliver promptly).

Been feeding my self with the numerous videos of the system in action on the web, and lordy do they look scrumptious..

Yes my copy of Lumines arrived today so I’m going to have a break from Ridge Racers for a while!

I’m sure you’ll get one next year when the price is OK with US launch. Its a PS2 in mobile form so you can still get your fun out of a PS2.

I never get chance to go on my PS2 these days as the kids always want to be on it so the PSP is MINE :evil:

Its great playing Ridge Racers in bed in the pitch dark with the eaplugs in while the wife sleeps soundly at my side

Ahhh - received my PSP today..

After a few hours of RR and Lumines I can safely say:

ooooh lovely

Just been into London and back (1.5 hour trip each way), and played ridge racer and lumines - battery life at 70% after 3 solid hours.

Yes, all the hype about battery life. I’ve never played long enough in one day to run out of juice yet. Lowest I went was about 30%

I haven’t tried it yet, but I understand from the internet that the answer is no, unfortunately. It’s a shame as the PSP remote is a bit disappointing, no lcd screen and feels a bit cheap..

True, but I wouldn’t recommend people use a PSP as their main music player. Bit too large & nowhere near as flexible as say a Mini ipod or my own Rio Carbon.

For me the PSP is first a game machine but then also a Movie player & picture viewer. Music is a bonus they would have been daft to leave out and especially useful for those that don’t have an mp3 player.

March release for US, a little under $200.

Let me first mention that this is probably the ultimate fanboy’s messageboard, as nearly everyone here has and loves Sony’s products with all the good and bad that may entail.

Secondly I’m not in the habit of posting false information - what’s the point? just thought I’d tell it like it is - i’m not interested in credibility mate.

I suggest you keep your gob shut unless you actually HAVE a PSP (which you clearly don’t) and go back to your gaming websites.

Well I’m not sure I play Ridge Racers for more than 3 hours a day but tend to play for about an hour each time maybe 3 times a day.

The lowest my battery has ever gone is 26% and thats also playing a bit of Lumines & listening to music. I play games with backlight at medium with sound about 65% through earplugs.

I also bought a second battery just in case (£31 import) but have never needed to use it yet. The PSP lasts the day out for me easy & with the second battery deffinetly would.

But, if your a kid who is permanently glued to Gameboys then the battery would run out but just remember you are playing PS2 quality games not 1990’s stuff

Plus, Wadham said he played RR & Lumines for 3 hours solid. He didn’t say he played RR for 3 hours. Lumines takes a lot less battery power! for example, I fully charged my battery last night then played Lumines for about an hour & battery had dropped less than 10%

Oh, and after playing Lumines for half an hour or so, my battery level is on 97% - Ridge Racer will give me about four hours constant play, whereas Lumines offers about 6. Just exploring the fun that Minna no Golf has to offer too. Where do I find the time..

My spare battery should be here today too, though I doubt I’ll actually be needing it just yet. I really can’t get over just how damn playable Ridge Racers is..
