No where else to turn: Cant get my Avermedia ULTRATV USB 300 to work and u all are my brothers and sisters. See this post for details:
The box works but won’t tune here in Nepal. Avermedia support is A JOKE. They refered me thier non Americas sites THAT DONT EVEN WORK!
I guess there a lot of issues, and I’ve even read there is a backdoor to XP SP2 that allows u to add a frequency table to XP in regards to tuning. But heck I got better things to do then mess with the registry. I am also thinking that other Tuner software might work (got any ideas? I tried SAGE, great software, but no support for the USB version of the tuner). What ticks me off, if its true, is that the marketing for this box says supports PAL and NTSC, but Avermedia Support America says that if I bought the box in the USA, it only supports PAL in the Americas!!! I guess meaning that PAL B/G is NOT supported, which is pretty much all over Asia.
Notice on thier website they do not mention NTSC or Pal support:
There was just a sticker on the box that said NTSC and PAL. I think this may be a scam. But I refuse to be bitter. I’d rather tear the box apart and try to solder in an old VCR tuner, but I don’t know how. Any ideas?
