I cannot seem to get the TR2AP to wake up after going into standby mode.  I have tried using the power button and pressing any key (Enter, Space, ESC and others).  I end up having to force the machine off by holding down the power button.

This occurs either when I let the machine go into standby on its own or if I use the Fn+Esc to force into standby.

Hibernation mode works fine the machine wakes up after I push the power key. 

I have also tried on another TR2AP and have the same result.

Any ideas?

on my older laptop a sony pcg-fx140 i thought i had the same problem but actually i didn’t.

for me , i had to wait for a whiule to get from stand-by to full operational mode.

maybe this is the fact again,

personally on my tr2a i never use the standby i go for the hybranation for 2 reasons, power failures which will charge and discharge my battery and through hybernation i cvan unplaug my power suppy go somewhere else plug it in and no charging is occuring.

That’s strange…it could be one of a few things. Have you loaded up any software that adds new device drivers? Some poorly written device drivers can easily foul up standby modes. A long shot could be faulty memory…but I doubt that since your hibernation works.

Thanks for the input.  Found the culprit.  We have site license for older version of PCAnywhere (9.2.1) and that was causing problem.  Its not XP compatible, even though we having running on a few other XP models.

One day a healthy budget will allow a proper version of software :wink:
