Hey you guys,

For my english class, i m doing a paper on how important is the sponsoring in sports world today. Why companies decide to work with an athlete rather than with another one. How are the contracts negociate and at what price…

at this point i m brain storming ( all alone, i m supposed to do it with 2 other guys but ... you know how it goes… i think i ll end up doing it myself… )
So i thought i would ask my virtual buddies for some help…

Just wanna make smthg clear, i m not asking you guys to do it… just think it s sometimes good to have other people opinion.

Do you have any good idea of what would be interesting to develop in that paper?

Does, by any chance, anybody has been dealing some sponsoring contracts? Coze if so i d live to have you opinion…

They work with who fits their needs. For example, a Michael Jordan, a stand-up athlete can run ads for family products or sports products. A Dennis Rodman type is good for sports (or was) but not for family/everyday items.

Expensive watch companies usually back more ‘upper-class’ sports…F1 vs NFL football…

As far as contract price and negotiations…a team of lawyers and businessmen…the hotter the player, the more per year and the more years you get.

Someone like Kobe…most sponsors pulled as soon as he was charged. Most contracts have some sort of clause that they must stay out of trouble, etc…as they represent the company.
