Does anyone know any Web/Graphic design apps that work on the TR? I wanted to install Photoshop CS/ Macromedia Flash MX but they are very demanding apps.

They may be demanding but they do work… whats the problem? Anywayz… GIMP is what I use on my S but I did use it on my TR and it was fine. It’s free too :wink:

What are you planning on doing? For most jobs requiring <30 layers they should be fine.  I use them everyday for design work…even 3ds max works (albeit exceedingly slow).

I use both Adobe Photoshop CS, Adobe Illustrator CS, and Flash MX 2004 on my TR and S and both are more than capable. You just need to make sure your systems have plenty of memory.

I’ve done plenty of projects using the above programs on my TR and they work fine. Of course, it really depends on the type of projects you’re working on. If you’re working on 400MB photoshop files then maybe it’s going to drag. If you’re simply doing 72-150 dpi work at up to like 8"x10” with 10-20 layers then you should be fine.

Here is a program my deviantArt friend uses and I’m probably gonna be getting into it as well. It’s great for 3D work. Maxon

I was planning on working on my website but I plan to be away on the holidays and wanted to work on it on my laptop.

You should be fine. This site was built using a TR…as was most of the Siliconpopculture.com site.

edit: I was doubting myself if Photoshop CS would even run on the TR because of the resources that it takes up. I feel more confident in installing now, installing now….

@OnMyWayUp: Yea Maxon is a pretty good graphics program, I usually do my graphics work on Discreet 3DS MAX, Photoshop CS

macromedia dreamweaver mx 2004 works fine
as does adobe photoshop cs and go live cs.

i have to write this up someday, as i have been using a TR of some sort as a primary computer for almost 2 years now and i have yet to find something i cant do, and my use ranges from teaching all the Office Apps to Professional Photography, Graphic Design, Web Development and now Videography. I have been using all the Adobe CS apps as well as all the Macromedia apps. Nothing kills it. Even transcoding video to DVD works fine using Nero and the likes. It’s my only computer and while I am sure that I could build a faster better machine or purchase one like AlienWare for what I do, my studio is tiny so space is limited.  But not my creativity thanks to the TR which is running it all, including my home entertainment system.
