Maybe it’s the last TR5 but I was in sony centre in Manchester the other day and they had a TR1 for the same price :shock:

I just wandered out the shop chuckling to myself… my TR2 safely in my bag!  I feel sorry for whoever pays that much for it.

Cant stop imagining how crazy that is. So much money for a TR1. I payed 200 quid less for my TR5 and got the VAT back too. 

Anyway i think there will still be people who’d want to buy this.

is that the one with 1gig, dvdrw and the bluetooth?

No TR model in the Uk ever came with 1 gig RAM. UK tr5 came with BT, 512 MB RAM and 1.1 MHZ Processor and DVDRW.

Lol no. Again no UK tr ever came with the 2 MB cache dothan processor instead of the 1 MB banias.

almost got excited .............. there is difference and I would’ve changed my TR3 for that one…

Hell yeah. Me too. But they dont sell them anymore here. I heard the 2 MB cache ones perform better, smoother.

the T i got for my mom, has the 2mb cache cpu. Huge difference… I am tempted to give my TR ... i don’t know

pros:
slick design
camera
silver/white color
proper position of the mic/line out outputs
can do 2gb memory

cons:
thick…
1mb cache cpu
dim screen

for the T

pros:
thinner
dvd+-R
brighter screen
2mb cache
better keyboard ... stiffer
7h battery

cons:
light panel is ugly,
outpus and volume controls are on a very WEIRD place
can’t do 2gigs

You mean you could put up with the eyesore battery from the T?

I couldn’t…nor the case coloring. There is a non-us version that is silver, that I could deal with.

For a business oriented machine I find blue/red to be an odd choice.

TR with a Dim screen???? weird - it’s either set up wrong or faulty - the screen on mine is the best i’ve seen on a notebook and is exactly the same unit as on the T series. :?:

yes, sure.

The T has the 512 ON THE MOTHERBOARD integrated. Soldered in other words and 1 slot underneath the top right corner of the keyboard for the additional 512MB..

It uses the small version of the MicroDimm.

If anybody got S, they might’ve noticed that the Sony Dimm is a little bigger than the kingston one ... the sony original PC2700 microDimm wont fit in the T ... too big
