is it possible to change the DVD/CD-RW Drive in S-Series ?

Hi!

I just bought a S1HP with an DVD/CD-RW drive. now i am wondering if its possible to replace this drive with a great DVD-RW drive in the future….

Yes, it’s possible and it requires a 9.5mm optical drive.

Huh? Kann ich nicht ganz glauben, immerhin hat mein TR5MP von Haus aus ein DVD-RW Laufwerk, da wäre es doch komisch wenn das Ding einzeln so viel kosten würde.

Translation for our english speaking friends:

Uh? I don’t know if I can believe this. After all, my TR5MP comes with a DVD-RW drive in the first place, so I think it would be strange if that drive costed so much.

Sony always overcharges for components. At one time the DVD+R drive was around $250, but they subsequently increased the cost to $400. The bigger issue I think is that the US DAPC (IIRC) doesn’t ship outside the US. I seem to remember someone in the UK having problems ordering the Bluetooth module from the US site.
