Just wondering if the avatar size limit of 80x80 has been changed, I’ve noticed a couple of cool bigger avatars on the boards as of late. 

i dont think there ever was a limit, since originally it accepted an even bigger (around double) image of mine.

I think just file size limit…unless you go offsite..
which i did..since i’m too lazy to load up photoshop and play around with every image i decide to use until the size is small enough

Cool, I saw the little blurb in the Profile section and went with it. Good to know bigger ones are accepted, I might have to fire up Photoshop later!

Yeah, it’s really only restricted if you’re going to host it here. If you go offsite then it’s a little more flexible. Of course, I might change it if people abuse it and create gigantic avatars.

I trust you guys and gals though so enjoy it.

I’m glad this place has conservative avatars and signatures, visiting other forums like HoFo can be quite taxing on the vertical real estate due to avatar and sig abuse.

Speaking of avatars… I love your new one gr00vy.  I can listen to any anime or jPop song and your avatar characters are almost perfectly in beat… good for them!... I’m not even kidding… I’ve spent 5 mins looking at them dancing to a song…  :oops: 

At some point it might not hurt to have a max dimension rule, when the tables on the page stretch out it might be a tad much…

Well… as of now 12/10/04: gr00vy have you locked the avatar sizes to 80x80?? I know my old one (and yours and FrodoId’s and pretty much people who havent changed theirs) were over the 80x80 limit… did you now lock it for new avatars?

I haven’t changed anything. If you upload your avatar then it will be capped. If you host it externally then you can make it bigger.
As always, anyone hosting external avatars should make sure that they aren’t too big otherwise it’s extremely distracting. So, be careful.  :wink:
