[quote author=“tmkt”] I’m from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada..
Shitload of snow in the winter.
this 4WD, and high clearance is a load of crap..
I had an mx6 there for years..no 4wd..barely any clearance..
and I survived..
Lots of europe countries get snow…
Just excuses from the SUV crowd trying to justify the need for the biggest and baddest..
Well, I originally come from the Beauce area of Québec. In the winter, it’s cold, windy and we also had a ton of snow. However, we saw a big difference with 4x4 vehicles… especially on sparingly maintained country roads, Heck, before the 4x4, we ofetn had to park the car at the lodge and either hitch a ride on a tractor or wait for the road to be plowed. With 4x4 vehicles (trucks and SUVs), this rarely happened. We always got home. So, I kind of understand where he is coming from.
On the other hand, I have no idea why people buy SUVs in cities (ok, I hear what they claim
I personally know someone in the DC area that has a Jeep Grand Cherokee… the fully loaded version with everything including the 4x4. When he complained about the snow, I asked why he was so concerned? His answer stunned me: “I don’t want to use my SUV in the snow”. Now THAT is nuts I later met him and he would wipe off any salt stains he would see.. Make your own conclusions.
Oh, I drive a Dodge Caravan, which I use as my car and my light-duty truck. It’‘s as economical as any mid-size car… but not as much as my daughter’s Ford Focus ZX3 (SVT).
