[quote author=“FrodoID”]We have a lot of Autobahns, and most of them are very, very long There are a lot of neverending parts without any speed limit. Note that in the south of Germany, the Autobahns are generally better.
But for us it’s nothing special at all. Driving 200km/h is just nothing special. We do it when it’s possible, but seldomly because it’s fun… if you grew up with that, it’s just normal. 250km/h can still be an excitement, however. I always thought it’s funny, between 50km/h and 100km/h you don’t feel any difference, both isn’t special. Between 200km/h and 250km/h however, there’s a huge difference. 200km/h still feels normal, but at 250km/h you start to get… doubts…
Still cool though.
Ah 6am, my focus is fading, lol. Class in 2 hours…week before finals…eek.
So you didn’t sleep tonight? I know how that feels
Yeah, 0 sleep tonight, about 3 or 4 hours last night.
100K is 60MPH right? So 200 is about 120…if thats the case, I agree, nothing special, I do it all the time in the states. I dont push more then 130 unless the road is really open.
As far as the autobahn goes…yeah we hit open stretches, but I was always under the impression that no part of the road was speed limited.

Sucks. I hate the constant struggle to stay awake when that occurs to me.

Exactly 124mph, yes.

Oh no, there are limits. In some places where people live near the Autobahn (which really isn’t where you want to have your little house) there are speed limits against the noise. Some other parts of some Autobahns are just too nasty to let every young kid who just turned 18 and thus just got his driving license drive his 250km/h through it, it would literally kill him (and even worse, others along with him)

Yeah, growing up, all I heard was AutoBahn this and AutoBahn that…no limits anything goes, blah blah. It was a half-truth.
I remember reading that article when the Mercedes test driver killed a lady and her kids because he was going over 150 or something and she was in the wrong lane, there wasn’t anything left of her car
I guess there are bad drivers everywhere…and as bad as I though NY’ers were, MI drivers take the cake…stay to the right if your going 25mph! Grr.
[quote author=“Rahul”]Since we are discussing cars could someone (especially in UK) tell me which car is this?
I saw it near London Eye. I probably did see the name but cant recollect now.
Smart car. Real piece of shit if you ask me lol. I dont personally like it and its really bugger all to drive. Having driven it once, i dont think i’d like to get behind the wheels again .. its too testy and feels like a toy as u’d expect.

I just don’t see the american appeal to big cars/trucks. My ex has the Vauxhall VX220 Turbo and he used to be able to drive under the barrier at work 8) Why would you want anything else! (apart from his new mini cooper s for the winter )

Like a large go-cart…that’s part of its appeal.

The thing is, for its price you can probably buy a second hand mini. Which is just a little bigger and drives like a dream. Its also important to understand that this car might be perfect for cramped up london traffic conditions but then again , just not the worth the price ( about 6000 £ here in london)
FYI : the Smart car is made by mercedes, and designed by swatch…
It s based on the concept that the a car is on average used by 1.8 person / day. After people drop their kids off they are pretty much alone in their car..
So that s why the made a 2 seats car so it s more than the average.
and just for fun…. that s how a smart center looks like
If you guys still wanna learn more about the Smart log on to where you ll find the other model such as the “four four” which as four seats, the “roatster” and even the convertible…
On laast thing, gotta say i love the Mini Cooper S ( if you guys have ever seen the movie Italian Job i m sure you ll all agree!!).
It s a sweet machine to drive, just like a carting
[quote author=“DayWalker1”]sounds like a pain to live in germany :p
As a matter of fact must be the same thing in the whole europe. Same thing in belgium. They ll refuse you for a little detail. But, i guess it s for our safety so whe should be happy with it.
Unless germany we have speed limit on the freeways

That’s all 200 k/h is? Even i’ve driven 120 mph… it was a fairly straight and extremely rural road but even so… I DID

Was “he” a typo… just curious…
[quote author=“tifosi”]Oh, forgot to mention, BRABUS tunes this car as well…it can be such a sleeper…mmm.

OK… why can’t we have cool cars like this over here in America?
I mean sure we can add nitro and cathodes to our cars… but we need kick-a$$ cars like these… i could care less about having a big car… in fact I want a small car:
8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8) 8)

We’ve got more of these in the uk than we might like. I fail to understand its appeal, its an absolute drag to drive.
One of the appeals of them is that they make alot more sense then the cars over here.
Come to California…take a drive to lake tahoe during a long weekend..
and watch the SUV parade begin..
the escalades, the hummers, the my suv is bigger then yours limited edition..
Rarely do you see these vehicles with more then one person in them.
