does anyone knows the shortkey or shortcut to turn off the LCD manually? sometime i want to turn just mornitor off without flipping down the lcd.

You’ll need a neat little tool called Wizmo . It’s free and extremely small and useful.

Download the program and place it anywhere you want (i.e. C:\Windows or whatever). Then you’ll want to create a shortcut to it. In the shortcut, be sure to add the following option to it so that it reads something like this:

The monoff option forces the power management of the system to turn off the monitor. You can then use whatever hotkey utility you may have to assign a key-combination to this. I assigned it to my Touchpad “Easy Launcher” settings.

You can assign functions/programs to be launched with the touchpad. I set the left corner as the “Easy Launcher” corner.

You’ll need to “change” the settings of wizmo to add the above parameter.

And be sure to set the left tap area to run Easy Launcher.

Then when you tap on the left corner you’ll get the following…

Tap on the W and it turns off the LCD!

i’ve a hard time tapping left corner, how do i get it easier to work.

oh and also i got a problem when i turned my lcd of by that program and then system’s screen saver shows up. i think it conflicts with each other. i can’t re log it,it just shows the blank screen. i ended up use remote desktop connection to re unlock windows’ screensaver and then get it works.

It’s easy to keep the built-in screensaver from kicking in…add this additional parameter after wizmo:

autoblank=0

So, it should look like this:

C:\windows\wizmo.exe autoblank=0 monoff

This disables the built-in windows screensaver and turns off the monitor. To find out all the cool things Wizmo can do, run it by itself without any parameters and read the text. This program can do a lot of different things.

Regarding the left corner click….it just takes a little bit of practice. By default, it should be a 1/2 second press and not just a simple tap. I had trouble initially but now i can pull it up at will.

i’m having a little trouble running this program.  where exactly do i place the triggers? i’m probably making some retarded mistake, so hopefully someone can help this retard out. thanks
