Ok, I’ve finally compiled the results of my tests and put it down in writing. For those of you who need ultimate mobility or are often away from a power source (by choice or not) then you may want to check out the large capacity battery for the TR.
I also cover the BP2T (standard battery) as well in comparison so you can see how long that battery lasts. In both cases, the results are impressive and truly ushers in a new age of long battery life from single batteries.
Very nice and comprehensive review, I just placed an order for one. I remember the days when my SR’s double-capacity battery was only good enough to last as long as the TR’s standard battery. One question- does the BP3T take 1.5 times as long to charge due to the increased capacity?
Generally speaking, it does take about 1.5 times longer to charge. Still, it’s actually pretty fast and charges a lot faster than it discharges.
I may update the review in a few days to compare recharging times…i didn’t keep a watchful eye before when running my tests so I don’t have any figures.
Ah, thanks for the info gr00vy. One thing I miss about my PowerBook is that you could purchase a third-party external battery charger, that would come in really handy considering I’ll have 3 batteries once the extended one arrives.
hi groovy, i wonder how suggle of the battery with ck5t case. would u mind post some pic of how fit it is? i’m thinking about buy one bp3t and also i have ck5t.
As you can see, you cannot zip up the case….well, you “could” but you’ll stretch the case and it will look very strange. Also, I suspect you can permanently damage the case if you force it. I just close the two sides and it’s fairly snug.
According to Battery’s review, it says if Wireless Connection is off then it saves more battery. Does that need to be physically off (switch off) or just adjust from software?
PS. IMO, the switch has to be off huh, but i’m not sure so want to make sure.
