Hi, I did read your post but I haven’t tried plugging in an external monitor into the TR so I didn’t respond. However, I’ve done something close enough…i.e. plugged in a adapter to output the screen contents to my TV. All I can say is that while the data was being outputted to the TV the screen changed it’s resolution from 1240 x 768 to 1024 x 768 but once I changed the mode back to LCD only it adjusted the resolution by itself. I’ve also not experienced the crashing problem as you’ve mentioned earlier.
I might be able to try the external monitor thing tomorrow. Please remind me incase I forget, but I will try it and let you know.
It seems to have something to do with the machine being on either standby or hibernate. Try plugging in a monitor while the system is in standby or hibernate, then wake the system up and try switching sources. That seems to be the key, because once the system reboots with the monitor plugged in, it works perfectly. But its that inital switch after a wakeup that gets me.
I dont use hibernate or standby so it could be the reason why I haven’t experienced the problems you’ve stated. However I shall try it out and post back tomorrow (provided my Internet works fine  )
Hi, I put my system in standby and then plugged in the monitor and thn switched it back on. I did the shift i.e. Fn+F7..it changed fine (lcd + monitor) and then I changed it back to LCD only…that too worked fine…dunno why the problem is happening with you…sorry :(
ÃŽ have followed the procedure on my TR1MP! Worked perfectly. I just want to ad that on the TR1MP there is also another unknown device - UGX! This is the bluetooth device and the install is a bit tricky. If You are not installing SP2 XP make a googlesearch on ugx driver tr1! It will lead You to download an EXE file with the qfe needed!
I don’t think installing hotkey util before or after installing windows updates would make a difference but you do need to install sony shared library as pointed out by grisjuan. Install Sony Utilities as well.
Sorry, I have no idea where it is now. Besides, I’m currently in India so even if I did have it with me, it will cost a lot to send it to you. You could try your luck and get a set from sony for free like I did.

Hey Rahul… do you know where i can find the Bios for the Sony TR2A. I tried looking for it at all places, but have been unsuccessful. I have posted my problem with my Bios on the Software section.
Also, you mentioned that u have the recovery software for the TR2A. If you still have it, can i please borrow it from you. I am based in India.

I warn you though.. youre dealing with a computer turtle.. with the ‘duh’ sign above my cranium :?:  . Dont know how i ever got through medicine. anyways.. any help will be greatly appreciated. i have the recovery cd’s (6).. but do not see any specfic cd for windows.. dont know if there is suppose to be one in the first place. you can ‘PM’ me if you like at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). . thanks.
[quote author=“agoodfella”]Can someone post the driver links for the TR1A?
Thanks
These should suffice for this tutorial (they are from a TR3’s recovery cd set though).
leprikhan, try a software like partition magic, it will allow you to merge your 2 partitions into 1. But, be forewarned, any wrong move and all data might be gone…it’s happened to me once before. Exact details for usage I don’t remember since I last used it 2+ yrs ago.
Sorry, that’s the only version I have posted till now. I don’t really know why that’s been happening but can you confirm if you’ve tried step no. 7 i.e.
7. Once again, goto Device Manager. Under Universal Serial Bus Controllers, you should see 4 entries named “USB Root Hub”. The 3rd one should be for the camera. Double click on it and select the Power Tab and make sure you see something like “Sony Visual Communication Camera VCC-U01” under the Attached devices label. If thats not the case then select another USB root hub and try the same. Now, click on the Power Management tab and uncheck the entry which says “Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.” Click OK and exit device manager.
