I have been through the “where are you from” post, but didn t find anybody that leaves close to me ( since you are basically all in asia or in the USA)
so i was wondering if there was anybody from belgium or france..
Maybe a french TR meeting :?: :!:
My Grandmother is from Belgium if that makes you feel better. Except for the war, she has fond memories of the country. I visited Belgium once a few years back when I did my several month European trip.
Hey i’ve been to belgium twice now. I loved brussels and it deserves the fact that it houses the EU HQ. Lovely city, the only thing i couldnt quite find there was english food. .. any places you know ? I’ll savour it for my next trip :D
It s even more than the EU HQ it s the capital of europe (at least it used to be.. now with the “new” europe i thinkg it s the different one).
About food i have been looking all over the place i finally found some american food like the root beer, the hershey or the hot chocolate with the marshmallows or the pancake syrup… even though american food is nothing but junk i miss it !!!!!!!
Our fries are so much better than any fries i tasted in the US but your burgers are so damn good ( love the Jack in the box or the Wendys dlb bacon with chese   )
Really ? American food is junk , english food is terrible , what exactly cuts it for you then ? Quality english food i think can only be found in britain and i dont think you’ve ever had any.
I give you that, i have weird tastes… like with the junk food… i mean it s not healthy at all although i love it.. about the english food i may haven had any good one..
fond forget that food is a very cultural things like for americans all french people are frogs eater, or i m sure indian poeple can t imagine us eating cow meat.. so a food discusion is kind of never ending discusion because we all have different tastes..
But i d like to taste some of what you call good english food…
But the food in english food just like the netherland food is kind of a well known fact
curry? in england? isn t it suppose to be an indan speciality ?
Well next time i come to england be sure i ll let you know… i m always up to eat
:D
I live about 2 hours from Brussels, in Den Haag.
I’ve been working and living here for the past two and a half years with my family, visited belgium and brussels many times, very beautiful city.
what about you? what do you do in belgium?

Yes it is indian, but we brits like to call it our own since ideally i’d imagine the concept of curry originated in England.

The British were a major force in India for well over two centuries. Many of the people I know of Indian descent have relatives that live in the UK. A lot of things that the UK is known for (particularly tea) are of Indian origin.
And if you think that Wendy’s is the pinnacle of the american burger, we’re going to have to take you to an actual american steakhouse. At some point we may even find you an american beer or two that is non-offensive to your rarified belgian tastes.
Unfortunately the only person I know from Belgium is Dr. Evil. :?

Also the fusion music, which is just really picking up around the club scene now. You cannot go into a british club and not expect listening to some weird hindi english mix you cant think off, and still sounds astounding. Its all good.
